Crafty Friday

Every Friday I will post a craft project that I've completed and show you step by step how to re-create it.

My first craft is a jewelry holder.

Time needed : 15min

Supplies needed:
Piece of wood (I got mine at Micheal's. They have wood in many different shapes and sizes.)
Burlap
Knobs and pulls (I got mine at Target)
Lace
Drill
Sharpie, pen, or pencil
Staples, glue, or needle & thread
Easel

This project is super easy!
First, decide what your layout is going to be. What's great about making it yourself is that it will be custom for the jewelry you already have. I laid out my necklaces and bracelets on the piece of wood until I found a configuration i liked.
Next, mark the wood where your knobs and/or pulls will go. Then drill the holes.
Now you need to cut the burlap to the size of the wood. Make sure you cut it big enough to wrap around the whole piece, this will make it easier to attach. You can glue, staple, or sew the burlap to the wood. I wish i would've used staples but i didn't have any, so I sewed mine. Luckily, I cut my burlap big enough that the ends all met in the back.
Next, attach your lace. Again, i sewed mine, but I'm sure it's easier to use glue.
After that you're ready to screw on the knobs and pulls. The burlap makes it easy because you don't have to cut holes in the fabric for the screws to fit through.
Last thing to do is add your jewelry!
